Multilingual Speech & Language Evaluations (All Languages Welcome)

At Oceanview Therapy, we understand that language development looks different for bilingual and multilingual individuals. Children and adults who speak more than one language may mix languages, use different grammar patterns, or develop skills at different rates—and this is often completely typical, not a disorder. However, many standard evaluations do not take these differences into account, which can lead to misidentification or confusion about a person’s true communication abilities.

Our evaluations are designed to give a clear and accurate picture of communication skills across all languages spoken. We work closely with bilingual and multilingual language experts, as well as specialists in diverse language development, to ensure that each evaluation is culturally responsive and appropriate. When needed, we coordinate with professional interpreters and translators in the family’s home language, allowing us to complete evaluations in any language as long as access to language support is available. This helps ensure that a child or adult is evaluated fairly, thoroughly, and with respect to their full language background.

Because interpreters and translators are often provided through trusted outside agencies, additional fees may apply depending on the level of support needed. We are always transparent about these costs and will work with you to plan services that fit your needs. At Oceanview, our goal is simple: to make sure every evaluation is accurate, respectful, and truly reflective of who your child is across all of their languages.
